A Vanilla Rose Latte is a delightful and fragrant coffee beverage that combines the soothing flavors of vanilla with the delicate floral notes of rose.

This espresso drink has two variants. The first is the hot one and the second is the iced one. You can enjoy its hot variant in the cold days of winter and you can enjoy its iced version in the hot days of summer.

In this recipe guide, I will teach you how to make hot as well as iced rose vanilla latte at home. If you are a cafe or coffee shop owner, you can make this drink there too.

Let’s start with the ingredients and equipment that you will need to make it.

Ingredients

  • 1 shot of fresh-brewed espresso
  • 1 cup of steamed milk (whole milk, skim, or your preferred milk alternative)
  • 1-2 tablespoons of vanilla syrup or 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla essence (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 – 1/2 teaspoon of rose water or rose essence (adjust to taste)
  • 1-2 teaspoons of granulated sugar or sweetener (adjust to taste)
  • Food-grade dried rose petals or edible rosebuds (Optional)
  • Iced cubes (For the chilled version)
  • Whipped cream (Optional for garnishing)

Equipment

  • Espresso machine (for brewing espresso)
  • Small bowl or cup for preparing the vanilla rose syrupCoffee grinder (if using fresh coffee beans)
  • Measuring spoons
  • Stirring spoon
  • One cup (To serve hot version)
  • Tall glass (To serve iced version)
  • Optional: Fine mesh strainer (for removing coffee grounds if using freshly brewed coffee)
  • Milk frother (For the hot version)

How to make an iced vanilla rose latte? (Hot and Cold Both)

Step 1: Brew Espresso

Start by brewing a shot of espresso using your espresso machine or make a strong cup of coffee using your preferred method. Allow it to cool to room temperature or refrigerate until cold.

Step 2: Prepare the Vanilla Rose Syrup

In a small bowl or cup, mix the vanilla syrup or vanilla extract and rose water. Adjust the quantities to achieve your desired level of vanilla and rose flavor. Set this mixture aside.

Step 3: Sweeten the Coffee

In your serving glass, pour the shot of espresso or cooled brewed coffee.
Add the prepared vanilla rose syrup to the coffee and stir well to combine. Adjust the sweetness and flavor to your liking by adding sugar or more syrup.

Step 4: Steam or Heat Milk (For the Hotter Version)

If you have a milk frother or steam wand, steam the milk until it’s creamy and frothy. Heat it to your preferred temperature (usually around 150°F or 65°C). Be careful not to scald the milk.

If you don’t have a milk frother, you can heat the milk in a small saucepan over low-medium heat, stirring constantly. Once heated, froth it using a whisk or a handheld milk frother.

Step 4: Add Ice Cubes and Pour Cold Milk (For Cooler Version)

Fill the glass with ice cubes to your desired level. Leave some space at the top for the milk.

Then, slowly pour the cold milk over the ice cubes. You can use whole milk, skim milk, or your favorite milk alternative. Stir gently to combine the coffee, milk, and syrup.

Step 5: Optional Garnish

If desired, garnish your Vanilla Rose Iced Latte with dried rose petals or edible rosebuds for a beautiful and fragrant presentation. You can also garnish your drink with whipped cream.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy

Your Vanilla Rose Iced Latte is ready to be enjoyed on a warm day or as a refreshing pick-me-up. Sip slowly and savor the delightful combination of vanilla and rose flavors.

Try different variations

Customize this latte by using flavored syrups or different types of milk. Adjust the sweetness and flavor by varying the amount of sugar or syrup.

I have also seen people adding cardamom to enhance the overall taste of this drink.

Wrapping up

Creating a rose vanilla latte at home is a simple and rewarding experience. This refreshing and aromatic coffee drink offers a unique blend of vanilla and rose flavors, making it a perfect choice for a summer or winter refreshment or a delightful treat anytime you crave something special.
